Germany Week 102

Hey Mom!

This week was pretty good. We ended up setting a baptismal date with a guy so that was great fun. It was a little weird knowing that there was no way I was going to be there for it, but hey, the work must go on. Also on Sunday a less active we've been working with came to church and he had an appointment with the bishop. Afterward he went up to Elder Davis and informed him he's not actually baptized. So they should have an appointment with him on Saturday and they'll probably set a baptismal date with him too. Super exciting. Bonn is such an awesome area. I'll definitely miss it.

Well...yeah... See you on Thursday!!!

Love you more!!!

Germany week 101

Dear Mom,

The end is coming so fast and it just makes everything weird. As mushed together as the weeks have always been I feel like this last week was even worse. I really have no idea what happened. Um... Let's see.... Probably the best was on Monday, we were able to meet with C and Sa, two of the Neubekehrte and we had a way spiritual time with them. They're great. I'm going to miss Persians.

Also, on Sunday Sa and Sh got the Priesthood which was epic!!! Yay!!!

Um... Sorry I'm terrible at this writing emails thing.

Love you more!!!

Germany Week 100

Dear Mum,

This week wasn't all that exciting. More or less the same as every other week. We had a few appointments, but most of them fell through. Ah, well, there's always next week. Most of the Neubekehrte are doing pretty well, though I'm still worried about that family. They're still struggling a little bit, but they're at least doing a little better than before.

The only really noteworthy thing this week happened on Saturday. We went by on a man we doored into a few weeks ago, who said we could come back sometime. When he opened the door, he informed us that he was not going to be able to be converted, but he would talk to us anyway, so we did. We ended up talking for quite a while about various topics, but in the end he ended up being right and politely refused to take a copy of The Book of Mormon, though he thanked us for the conversation. As I walked away from that house though, I had the overwhelming feeling of love for that man and I felt the Spirit tell me that The Lord had a plan for that man and that I had just played a part in that plan. It was such an amazing feeling and I hope I can have it again in these next few weeks.

Love you more!!!

Germany Week 99

Dear Mom,

Sounds like your Mother's Day was pretty good. Freut mich*. Or as the Persians would say, Hoshalam. (I don't know how close that actually is, but it's close enough.) Well, you already know basically everything about my week and even everything about my yesterday because you talked to me toward the end of the day. But that was great talking to you. Um... Yeah... See you in fourish weeks?

Love you more!

Germany Week 98

Hi Mom,

The week was pretty boring. Everyone we tried to meet with ended up cancelling on us, so that was fun. But we did talk to some cool people, so we'll see what happens there. Probably the coolest thing that happened was our appointment with H. He's seemed a bit stressed with everything he's been trying to help the Neubekehrte, so it was way cool to have a nice spiritual discussion with him that was able to help him and not just have him translating for someone else.

Yep, the rest of the week was pretty boring, but y'all should have a nice week.

Love you more!!!

Germany Week 97

Dear Mom,

This week was okay. I was a little sick the last half of the week, so that was fun. It wasn't that bad though, so life mostly just went on as usual.

Turns out those one Persians live in Much, which means it takes forever to get to Bonn and the buses don't run very early, so the earliest they could get to church is an hour or two after it starts. Hopefully we'll still meet with them sometime this week though and then we can figure something out. Also we found out on Sunday that Shahab's brother-in-law has read all of The Book of Mormon and apparently has a lot of questions, so hopefully we'll be able to work something out with that family too. Should be awesome.

Other than that, nothing too exciting happened this... Yeah...

Love you more!!!

Germany Week 96

Dear Mum,

I have no idea what happened this week. Even though neither I nor my companion got transfered, the beginning of the new transfer definitely made things a little weird. First we had to help the other Elders move because their trains left from Bonn, so that took some time. We also spent a day going up to Düsseldorf to do some things to start the transfer off. Great fun.

Leider, we didn't get to meet with Sh's family this week, but we're still hoping for sometime soon. Also, a different Persian family wanted to come to church on Sunday, but they took the wrong bus or something, but they're still interested, so hopefully that works out. We also met with Z and R. That was awesome.

Um... yeah...

Love you more!!!
